This award recognises outstanding dedication, commitment and an overwhelming contribution to their Golf Course facility. Such an award can help form an important part of a resume and the awareness gained at the Dinner and Conference, and subsequent publicity of the winner, could be a defining moment in the career of an aspiring Course Superintendent.
Eligibility
The Golf Course Superintendents Association of Queensland Inc. invites all Golf Clubs to nominate their Golf Course Turf Apprentice who recently gained their Trade Certificate.
Criteria
The following criteria should be considered and evidence provided when nominating an individual for Golf Club Turf Apprentice of the Year:
- A brief job description of the Apprentices duties at the Golf Club
- The Apprentices career goals
- The Apprentices motivation to succeed in the turf industry
- Any further training planned by the Apprentice
- What improvements the Apprentice believes could be made to the training process?
Trade Certificate, College Results and references from your Club and Course Superintendent, must be submitted with such nomination.
Nomination Process
Golf Course Turf Apprentices may be nominated for this award via the General Manager, Board or Committee members at their respective golf club and all nominations shall be made through the online nomination form.
Nominations will close at 5pm on 1st August, 2026.
Selection
Nominations for Golf Course Turf Apprentices of the Year will be assessed in relation to the above criteria by the Golf Course Superintendents Association of Queensland and results announced at the 2026 Queensland Golf Industry Awards Dinner, to be held at Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre on Thursday 8th October, 2026.
