  • The purpose of this award is to recognise a Queensland golf club, facility, or place to play located in the metropolitan area that has demonstrated exceptional quality, inclusivity, and innovation in providing outstanding golfing experience.

  • The purpose of this award is to recognise a Queensland golf club, facility, or place to play located in the metropolitan area that has demonstrated exceptional quality, inclusivity, and innovation in providing outstanding golfing experience.

    Eligibility:

    To be eligible for consideration, the nominee must:

    • Be located in Queensland or in the Northern Rivers region of NSW and within a ‘Major Cities of Australia’ remoteness area as defined by the Australian Statistical Geography Standard  as can found on the interactive map HERE.
    • Be a golf club, public golf facility, or community venue where golf is played.
    • Be operational and open to the public or members during the eligibility period (temporary closures are acceptable, provided the facility remained active for a significant portion of the year).
    • Comply with all regulations and uphold standards of integrity, inclusion, child safety, and fairness in all operations and conduct.
    • The facility must demonstrate a positive reputation within the local and/or Queensland golf community.
    • Must not be under any active investigations or sanctions that would bring the sport or the award into disrepute.

    NOTE: Off-course facilities are not eligible for this award and should nominate for the Most Outstanding Queensland Club Facility or Place to Play (Off-Course) Award.

    Criteria:

    The recipient of this award will be selected based on achieving one or more of the following criteria:

    • Created a space where the club, facility or play to play reflects their community and golf is seen as a sport for all.
    • Implementation and execution of good governance and business practices.
    • Creates a workplace where employees are engaged and learning and development is encouraged.
    • Financial stewardship highlighting financial performance and sustainability, revenue diversification, cost management, capital investment and asset management.
    • Ultimately contributed to ‘More Australians playing More Golf’.
    • Engagement and alignment with the strategy for Australian Golf 2022–2025.

    All evidence should relate to the activity and achievements for the period of 1st August 2025 to 30th June 2026.

    Nomination Process:
    Golf Clubs may be nominated for this award via club representatives, staff, management, PGA Club and Teaching Professionals or any other person who has detailed knowledge of a respective facility's success. All nominations shall be made through the online nomination form and must be accompanied by a supporting letter from the facility (Management or Director). 

    Nominations will close at 5pm on 1st August, 2026.

    Selection:
    Nominations for the Most Outstanding Queensland Club, Facility or Place to Play (Metropolitan) award will be assessed in relation to the above criteria by a Golf Management Australia and Golf Australia selection panel and results announced at the 2026 Queensland Golf Industry Awards Dinner, to be held at Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre on Thursday 8th October, 2026.

    The winner will also advance to be the Queensland representative for this award in Golf Australia's 2026 National Awards of Excellence.
