• 2026 Women and Girls in Golf Award

  • The purpose of this award is to recognise a Queensland golf club, facility, place to play, individual or group that has made significant strides in promoting and increasing the participation and engagement of women and girls in golf.

  • The purpose of this award is to recognise a golf club, facility, place to play, individual or group that has made significant strides in promoting and increasing the participation and engagement of women and girls in golf.

    Eligibility:
    The recipient of this award shall be a golf club, facility, place to play or individual located (or principally based) in the state of Queensland. Should the nominee be an individual, they shall be a club committee member, junior co-ordinator, club captain or an official at association or state level etc. who receive no remuneration (apart from reimbursement for expenses incurred) in respect of their duties.

    Criteria:
    The recipient of this award be an R&A Women in Golf Charter signatory and will be selected based on achieving one or more of the following criteria:

    • The golf club, facility, place to play, individual or group must be located or principally based in the state of Queensland
    • Australian Golf Foundation Junior Golf Scholarship Program Provider and deliver as set out in the centre terms and conditions.
    • Has championed and advocated for increasing the participation and engagement of women and girls in golf.
    • Implemented a program that advances opportunity for women and girls in golf.
    • Be officially registered as a Get Into Golf Centre with Golf Australia during the eligible period and:
      • Have delivered at least one full women's program (minimum four sessions) during the award period;
      • Have run at least one full term of women's sessions within the 12-month award period;
      • Be delivered by a registered and accredited PGA Professional, PGA Associate or National Program Deliverer; and
      • Nominees must have a minimum of 20 registered participants over the award period, enrolled online via the Golf Australia portal.
    • The golf club, facility, or place to play involved emphasises having more women in leadership, management, and board roles.
    • Reduced the barriers for women and girls in golf and has contributed to building a positive, gender inclusive golfing community.
    • Engagement and alignment with the strategy for Australian Golf 2022– 2025

    All evidence should relate to the activity and achievements for the period of 1st August 2025 to 30th June 2026.

    Nomination Process:
    Nominees may be nominated for this award via club representatives, staff, management, PGA Club and Teaching Professionals or any other person who has detailed knowledge of the golf club, facility, place to play or individual's achievements. All nominations shall be made through the online nomination form.

    Nominations will close at 5pm on 1st August, 2026.

    Selection:
    Nominations for the Women and Girls in Golf Award will be assessed in relation to the above criteria by a by a Golf Queensland panel and results announced at the 2026 Queensland Golf Industry Awards Dinner, to be held at Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre on Thursday 8th October, 2026.

    The winner will also advance to be the Queensland representative for this award in Golf Australia's 2026 National Awards of Excellence.
