The GMA Distinguished Manager Award recognises outstanding dedication, commitment, and an overwhelming contribution to the success of a Golf Course or golf facility. This prestigious award is designed to look at the Manager’s ability to deal with all situations which may arise and how their management has had a positive impact on the club/facility as a body of work for an extended period. (Within the past 5 years)
Eligibility:
Any General Manager/CEO/Secretary Manager or alike of a Golf Facility (either ‘for profit’ or ‘not for profit’) located in Queensland or in the Northern Rivers region of NSW whom have displayed outstanding achievements in the criteria listed is eligible for the GMA Distinguished Manager Award.
* Must be a current GMA Member
Criteria:
The following criteria should be considered and evidence provided when nominating an individual for the GMA Distinguished Manager Award:
- Member relations
- Commitment to professional development
- Financial performance
- Strategic planning
- Overall Club operations
All evidence should relate to the activity and achievements for the period of 1st August 2025 to 30th June 2026.
Please attach any supporting documentation along with a photo of the candidate when submitting the nomination.
Nomination Process
Managers may be nominated for this award via club representatives, staff, management, PGA Club and Teaching Professionals or any other person who has detailed knowledge of the Manager’s achievements.
All nominations shall be made through the online nomination form and must be accompanied by a supporting letter from the Manager’s Golf Club (Board Member, Director etc).
Nominations will close at 5pm on 1st August, 2026.
Selection
Nominations for GMA Distinguished Manager Award will be assessed in relation to the above criteria by a Golf Management Australia (QLD) selection panel and results announced at the 2026 Queensland Golf Industry Awards Dinner, to be held at Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre on Thursday 8th October, 2026.
