The Queensland Golf Industry Volunteer of the Year will be an individual who contributes to golf in Queensland voluntarily. The Nominees’ achievements as a volunteer must be of such standards of excellence to have set themselves apart from their peers so as to warrant them becoming the recipient of this award. The award recognises those volunteers who are currently providing an exceptional volunteer service and, in selecting the winner, the most recent achievements of the nominee will be of primary importance. However, the achievement of the nominee over years prior may also be taken into consideration and should be recorded in the nomination where applicable.
Eligibility:
To be eligible for consideration, the nominee must:
- Be an individual or group of volunteers who:
- Are not paid for their services (unpaid volunteer work)
- Have contributed to golf within Australia
- Have contributed significantly to the operations, experience, or success of a golf club or event during the 12-month award period.
- The nominee must not have received payment for services rendered.
- Volunteers must adhere to Golf Australia’s code of conduct, child safety standards (where applicable), and demonstrate community-minded behaviour.
Criteria:
The recipient of this award will be selected based on achieving one or more of the following criteria:
- Has exhibited exemplary commitment and success through their volunteer role.
- Has developed, implemented or supported events, programs or initiatives that benefit the game of golf.
- The impact their volunteer contribution has had within their club, facility or place to play.
- The impact their volunteer contribution has had on the broader golfing community.
- Engagement and alignment with the strategy for Australian Golf 2022– 2025.
All evidence should relate to the activity and achievements for the period of 1st August 2025 to 30th June 2026.
Nomination Process:
Nominees may be nominated for this award via club representatives, staff, management, PGA Club and Teaching Professionals or any other person who has detailed knowledge of the Volunteers achievements. All nominations shall be made through the online nomination form and must be accompanied by a supporting letter from the Volunteers Golf Club (Board Member, Director etc)
Nominations will close at 5pm on 1st August, 2026.
Selection:
Nominations for the Volunteer of the Year will be assessed in relation to the above criteria by a by a Golf Queensland panel and results announced at the 2026 Queensland Golf Industry Awards Dinner, to be held at Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre on Thursday 8th October, 2026.
The winner will also advance to be the Queensland representative for this award in Golf Australia's 2026 National Awards of Excellence.
